Lead the dyeing laboratory to deliver accurate and timely lab dips, reliable dye and chemical quality control, compliant finished-fabric testing, and consistent lab-to-bulk colour reproduction. Partner with Production to improve right-first-time dyeing and reduce rework.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, match and submit lab dips as per customer standards; maintain approved recipes and shade records.
- Use spectrophotometer / CCM (Computer Colour Matching )and visual evaluation to control shade accuracy,
- Control lab-to-bulk recipe transfer; analyse shade deviations and recommend documented recipe corrections.
- Test and approve incoming dyes and chemicals against specifications; resolve supplier quality issues.
- Ensure finished-fabric testing: wash/rub/perspiration fastness, dimensional stability, GSM, pH, tear/tensile strength and other buyer requirements.
- Investigate failed tests,
shade variation and repeat reprocessing jointly with Production; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage lab technicians, equipment calibration, SOPs, test records, safety and testing turnaround timelines.
- Optimise recipes for consistency, quality and cost without compromising customer requirements.
Candidate Profile Hands-on experience in cotton/reactive and polyester/disperse dyeing, preferably woven fabric processing; robust knowledge of dye chemistry, colour matching, fastness testing, lab-to-bulk correlation and troubleshooting. Must be data-driven, detail-oriented and effective in cross-functional coordination.
Success Measures
Lab-dip approval and turnaround • Lab-to-bulk shade accuracy • First-time-right bulk dyeing • Finished-fabric testing compliance • Reduction in reprocessing and recipe-related failures
