The role is responsible for carrying out assembly operations, ensuring product quality, maintaining safety, and achieving assigned production targets with strict adherence to DGQA, PESO, and shopfloor safety standards.
Carry out manual and semi-automatic assembly operations as per SOP To perform protected and accurate assembly of medium caliber ammunition (20 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm) components as per standard operating procedures, drawings, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Assembly Technician – Assembly Shop - Production Management & Quality Control Monitor assembly operations for precision assembly of ammunition components Control cycle time, tool wear, OEE , rejection control, Optimum uses of resources Drive OEE improvement (Availability, Performance, Quality) Implement Kaizen and Lean manufacturing practices.
Improve productivity by reducing the major & minor loss.
Keep track of Quality parameters & implement SPC for critical parameters / dimensions Follow and manage ISO 19001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 certifications requirements.
( IMS Requirement) Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on production needs & Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production volume, quality, and downtime.
Can identify issues in real-time and drive quick corrective actions to avoid production loss or quality defects.
Safety and Compliance Enforce all safety regulations and procedures on the production floor.
Conduct safety training and awareness sessions for team members Investigate and report any safety incidents, taking corrective measures to prevent recurrence and work towards ZERO Incident approach Maintenance and Troubleshooting:- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment malfunctions and minimize production downtime & Monitor machine performance and identify potential maintenance issues.
Perform basic troubleshooting on production equipment as needed to ensure Zero Downtime of equipment Reporting and Documentation: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, including quality metrics and performance data & Maintain accurate production records and documentation as per company standards.
Utilization of SAP and Traceability of Lots through MES
Technical Competencies
Awareness about Engineering Drawings,Basic Knowledge about Fasteners & Hand Tools ,Cutting tools & Fixtures
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma (Mech) with Minimum 5-8 Years of assembly in production.
(From explosive & ammunation is more preferable) - Age <=26 years.
