Role Description The Italian Cuisine Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, including pastas, pizzas, risottos, and regional specialties, while maintaining consistent quality and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include organizing mise en place, overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen staff during service, and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards. The chef will contribute to menu development, seasonal specials, and cost-effective ingredient usage, while coordinating with front-of-house teams to ensure timely service.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, requiring presence during peak service hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.



The chef is also expected to train junior team members, maintain kitchen equipment, and support a positive, respectful work culture.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Italian cuisine, including traditional and contemporary dishes, with proven experience as a chef or sous chef in an Italian or fine-dining restaurant.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety standards, inventory management, portion control, and efficient workflow organization.
- Ability to develop menus, experiment with recent recipes, and adapt dishes to seasonal ingredients while controlling food costs.
- Team leadership skills, including training and mentoring kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor during busy service periods.
- Attention to detail in plating, flavor balance, and consistency, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and culinary presentation.
- Relevant culinary certification or diploma from a recognized institute is preferred; additional training in Italian cuisine is an advantage.
- Capability to work full-time on-site in Gurugram, with flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holiday service.
