Role Summary

The Investment Advisor (IA) is the primary owner of advisory client relationships within Burgundy Private. The role focuses on understanding client goals, constructing and managing portfolios using an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) framework, and ensuring optimal asset allocation, performance accountability, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Allocation & Portfolio Construction

1. Assess client risk profiles and investment objectives.
2. Create IPS mandates and design suitable asset allocation strategies.
3. Make strategic and tactical product allocation decisions across asset classes.

Portfolio Monitoring & Review

1. Monitor portfolio performance under advisory mandates.
2. Conduct regular reviews and rebalance portfolios in line with IPS and risk guidelines.

Economic & Product Expertise

1. Maintain strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, market indicators, and investment products.

Stay updated on domestic and global market developments.

Investment Product Research

1. Conduct due diligence on investment products across asset classes.
2. Engage with product providers (AMCs, PMS, AIFs) for updates, insights, and performance evaluation.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Postgraduate degree from a recognized institute.
2. Preferred certifications: MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, CFP.

Role Proficiencies

1. Strong knowledge of equity, debt, mutual funds, and alternative investments.
2. Understanding of quantitative asset allocation methodologies.
3. Ability to assess investment risks and align portfolios to client goals.
4. Solid client engagement and communication skills.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with relationship managers and advisory teams.
