About The Role

We are looking for an Insurance professional with 5–10 years of experience to lead the procurement and management of project insurance and construction insurance programmes for the company’s high-capex infrastructure projects, including GPU clusters, data centres, and associated power and cooling assets. The role will work closely with brokers, insurers, lenders, and project teams to secure bankable, cost-effective cover from construction through operations. Internally, the position will be part of the CFO organisation, working closely with senior management to ensure alignment with lender compliance requirements and APAC insurance market dynamics.

The role also demands deep understanding of data center risk profiles and the ability to structure coverage that meets complex project finance and operational needs across jurisdictions.

The role is ideal for someone with strong insurance placement, contract review, and stakeholder management capabilities who wants exposure to project finance, lender requirements, and senior leadership interactions in a fast-growing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Insurance Procurement &

- Placement

- Procure and place project insurance programmes including construction / erection all risks, delay in start-up, marine cargo and transit, operational property damage and business interruption, and third-party liability, ensuring alignment with lender compliance and APAC insurance regulatory frameworks.
- Run broker and insurer selection, including RFPs, market sounding, quote comparison, and negotiation of terms, pricing, and deductibles—leveraging relationships with London/Lloyd’s and Asia insurance hubs for optimal coverage and pricing across APAC jurisdictions.
- Prepare underwriting submissions and risk information, including sums-insured and loss-of-profit assessments, in coordination with project, technical, and finance teams—ensuring robust risk transfer for capex projects.
- Place cover for specialist risks such as equipment breakdown, cyber, technology E&O;, and political risk across APAC, incorporating data center risk considerations and lender compliance standards.
- Track renewals, premium payments, endorsements, and claims; maintain the insurance register and ensure full traceability for project finance due diligence and lender compliance reporting.

Lender &

- Contract Compliance

- Align insurance programmes with lender requirements under financing documents, including insurance covenants, loss payee and co-insured arrangements, and cancellation notice provisions—ensuring full lender compliance for capex projects.
- Coordinate with lenders’ insurance advisors and provide certificates, reports,

and compliance confirmations during financing and thereafter—supporting timely drawdowns and ongoing covenant adherence.
- Review insurance and indemnity clauses in supply, colocation, customer, and lease contracts, and advise on risk allocation—ensuring alignment with APAC insurance best practices and project insurance standards.
- Coordinate contractor-procured and company-procured policies to avoid gaps and overlaps in cover, particularly for data center risk and high-value technology assets.

Risk Assessment &

- Claims

- Work with technical advisors and project teams to identify and quantify project and operational risks—including data center risk, GPU cluster exposure, and infrastructure resilience—and support risk transfer decisions for capex projects.
- Support risk engineering and loss-control surveys and track implementation of recommendations to mitigate exposure across construction and operational phases.
- Manage claims end to end, including notification, engagement of loss adjusters, documentation, and recovery follow-up—ensuring minimal business interruption for data centres and power infrastructure.

Reporting &

- Strategic Support

- Build insurance cost estimates and budgets for project financial models, investor presentations, and lender discussions—ensuring transparency and realism in capex planning.
- Provide insurance inputs for financing term sheets, information memorandums, and due diligence requests—ensuring comprehensive risk disclosure for APAC insurance and project insurance structures.
- Develop insurance policies, guidelines, and a group-wide programme as the business scales across geographies—ensuring consistency with lender compliance and APAC regulatory expectations.

- Ability to read and negotiate policy wordings, endorsements, and contractual insurance clauses—including APAC insurance market conventions and lender compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of sums-insured, PML / MFL, loss-of-profit assessment, and data center risk quantification methodologies.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint—especially for financial modeling, insurance cost analysis, and investor-grade reporting.

Soft Skills

- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills—especially when interfacing with lenders, investors, and technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and follow-through on policies, renewals, and lender compliance documentation.
- Ability to work in fast-paced and entrepreneurial environments—balancing multiple capex projects across APAC.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously—ensuring seamless coordination between project teams, brokers, and insurers.

Preferred Experience

- Experience placing insurance for data centres, digital infrastructure, power, or renewable energy projects—especially with GPU clusters and high-density computing assets.
- Experience with high-value technology and IT equipment cover, including GPU or similar assets—understanding of technology E&O; and equipment breakdown exposures.
- Experience with international insurance markets (London / Lloyd’s, Asia hubs) and APAC regulatory regimes—including cross-border policy structuring and lender compliance alignment.
- Exposure to lender insurance requirements and project finance due diligence—including preparation of insurance schedules for term sheets and financing close.

What The Role Offers
