Role Description The IB PYP Homeroom Teacher role at Sovo School is a full-time, on-site position based in Chandigarh. The teacher will plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework, integrate transdisciplinary themes, and create a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing units of inquiry, assessing student progress, maintaining detailed records, providing regular feedback, and reporting to families and school leadership.
The role involves collaborating with other teachers to coordinate curriculum, participate in professional development, and contribute to school events and enrichment activities.
The homeroom teacher will also support students’ social-emotional development and promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
- IB PYP teaching certification or relevant IB training is an advantage
- 2+ years of teaching experience at the primary level
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English; additional languages a plus
- A genuine passion for working with young children
