ABOUT THE ROLE

Newton School is looking for a proactive and responsible Hostel Operations Intern to support the smooth day-to-day operations of our student hostel in Pune. The role involves managing student requirements, coordinating hostel facilities and service providers, resolving day-to-day issues, and ensuring a safe, comfortable and well-managed residential environment for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support the day-to-day operations and administration of the student hostel.

· Act as a point of contact for students regarding hostel-related queries and concerns.

· Coordinate with housekeeping, security, maintenance teams and external vendors.

· Monitor hostel facilities and identify operational or service-related issues.

· Coordinate timely resolution of student complaints and operational issues.

· Maintain basic hostel records, occupancy information and inventory.

· Support room allocation, check-in/check-out and other resident-related processes.

· Ensure hostel rules, safety guidelines and operational procedures are followed.

· Conduct regular checks of hostel facilities and report issues to the concerned team.

· Take ownership of assigned operational tasks and ensure timely closure.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum Bachelor's degree / Graduation in any discipline.

· Experience in hostel, residential facility or accommodation management is preferred but not mandatory.

· Freshers with strong communication,



coordination and problem-solving skills can also apply.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact comfortably with students.

· Basic knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.

· Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and external vendors.

· Strong sense of ownership, responsibility and discipline.

· Willingness to work in a residential/hostel environment.

WORKING HOURS

· Approximately 8–9 working hours per day.

· Rotational shifts may be applicable based on hostel operational requirements.

· Flexibility to handle urgent student or hostel-related operational issues when required.
