Gold Appraiser

Join our agile financial services team as a Gold Appraiser and play a crucial role in evaluating gold assets for loan disbursement. You will combine your expertise in precious-metal assessment with strong customer-centric sales skills to ensure accurate appraisals, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate and authenticate customers’ gold ornaments and bullion to determine purity, weight, and market value.
2. Calculate eligible loan amounts based on internal lending policies and current market rates.
3. Prepare and maintain accurate appraisal reports and documentation for each transaction.
4. Educate customers on loan terms, interest rates, repayment schedules, and other product features.
5. Coordinate with the branch sales team to achieve monthly gold loan targets and cross-sell complementary financial products.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and anti-fraud measures during the appraisal and lending process.
7. Maintain safety, security, and proper storage of pledged gold items.
8. Monitor loan renewals, follow-ups, and recovery processes to minimize non-performing assets (NPAs).
9. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly to foster long-term relationships.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce,



Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. 1–5 years of hands-on experience in gold appraisal, gold loan operations, or related banking/financial services.
3. Sound knowledge of gold purity testing methods (acid, karat meter, touchstone, etc.) and prevailing gold market trends.
4. Strong understanding of retail lending processes, loan documentation, and collateral management.
5. Proven sales acumen with ability to achieve targets and promote financial products.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members.
7. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and numerical skills for accurate valuation and record-keeping.
8. Proficiency in MS Office and loan management software.
9. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism.

Nice to Have:

1. Certification in gemology, precious-metal appraisal, or related domain.
2. Experience with digital lending platforms and fintech solutions.
3. Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and KYC best practices specific to precious metals.
4. Fluency in multiple regional languages for enhanced customer engagement.
5. Prior experience in cross-selling insurance or investment products.
