: Dispatch Manager – Dairy Industry

Position Overview:

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely dispatch of dairy products to ensure quality standards, customer satisfaction, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves coordinating transportation schedules, managing a team of dispatch personnel, and ensuring that logistics processes align with the operational and quality standards of the dairy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Logistics and Scheduling:
- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch schedules to ensure timely delivery of dairy products.
- Optimize routes and delivery schedules to minimize transportation costs while maintaining product freshness and quality.
- Monitor the delivery fleet to ensure punctuality and adherence to delivery timelines.

- Team Management:

- Supervise and guide dispatch personnel, including drivers and logistics staff.
- Assign responsibilities, provide training, and evaluate team performance to achieve operational efficiency.

- Product Quality and Compliance:

- Ensure that dairy products are transported under proper conditions (e.g., temperature-controlled environments) to maintain quality and shelf life.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as dairy industry standards.

- Coordination and Communication:

- Serve as the primary point of contact between the production, warehouse,



and sales teams to align dispatch operations with overall business goals.
- Address and resolve delivery issues, including delays, damaged goods, or customer complaints, promptly.

- Fleet Management:

- Oversee the maintenance and operation of the delivery fleet to ensure reliability and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Track vehicle fuel consumption, repairs, and servicing to optimize costs.

- Reporting and Analytics:

- Maintain records of dispatch activities, delivery times, and fleet performance.
- Generate reports to analyze trends, improve logistics efficiency, and support decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

- Experience:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a dispatch or logistics management role, preferably in the dairy or food industry.
- Familiarity with temperature-controlled logistics and perishable goods handling.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools (e.g., ERP, TMS).
- Understanding of fleet management systems.
