DevOps Automation Engineer | Tooling & AI-Native Workflows

Role Overview

BrightEdge is seeking a proactive, self-reliant DevOps Automation Engineer with a strong software development and tooling orientation to eliminate manual toil, repetitive scripting, and operational dependencies.

Your sole mission is to build the software, portals, integrations, and AI-driven workflows that enable our engineering teams to operate at scale. You will be responsible for creating self-service platforms, automated self-healing loops, and leading-edge AI-native workflows that ensure our production systems are fully optimised. What You’ll Do:

- Build Elite Self-Service Tooling: Design and write custom internal software, APIs, and self-service portals (e.g., dynamic setting provisioning, automated access management) to completely remove human dependencies from the development cycle.
- Engineer AI-Native Operations: Develop and integrate custom AI-assisted automation (using Model Context Protocol / MCP, Bedrock, custom LLM agents) to automate alert triage, code-review gates, log parsing, and incident root-cause analysis (RCA).
- Architect Golden Pipelines: Build, standardise, and scale highly automated, reusable CI/CD templates and GitOps workflows across distributed engineering teams.
- Implement Self-Healing & Auto-Remediation: Write robust event-driven scripts (Python/Go/Bash) and infrastructure policies that automatically detect, quarantine, and remediate operational faults without human intervention.
- Maintain Strict IaC Standards: Ensure 100% of multi-cloud resources and configurations are deployed declaratively via modular Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Drive Cost & Performance Engineering: Continuously identify operational inefficiencies and automate cost-governance workflows (e.g., automated resource pruning,



multi-region database replication, and scaling optimisations).

What You Bring:

- Software-First Mindset: 4+ years of Strong production-grade programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash for system automation, API integrations, and developer tooling.
- Multi-Cloud & Container Competence: Solid hands-on experience orchestrating workloads across AWS and/or GCP, utilising Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), and Helm.
- Declarative IaC & GitOps Mastery: Proven experience building multi-environment infrastructures from scratch using Terraform or CloudFormation, and declarative CD delivery using Argo CD or Flux CD.
- Unmapped Problem-Solving: Genuinely motivated to step outside your comfort zone, take deep ownership, and aggressively tackle technical challenges you do not yet know how to solve.
- AI Tooling Adoption: Comfort using and building on top of AI coding assistants (such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging.
- Collaboration & Clarity: Ability to collaborate closely with distributed engineering leads, DevOps managers, and architects to translate business operational friction into scalable software solutions.

Nice to Have:

- Experience building or integrating custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or LangGraph pipelines.
- Experience managing high-throughput streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or distributed database clusters.
- Hands-on experience with advanced Kubernetes auto-scaling (Karpenter, KEDA) and telemetry aggregation.
- Dual certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or Red Hat (RHCSA).
