Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Commis Chef – Continental Cuisine, located in Trivandrum.

The Commis

Chef will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of continental dishes, following standardized recipes and portion controls. Daily responsibilities include mise en place, maintaining food quality and freshness, supporting senior chefs during service, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards. The role involves working closely with kitchen team members,



rotating through different sections as required, and contributing to productive kitchen operations.

The Commis

Chef will also help with stock rotation, basic inventory checks, and maintaining cleanliness of workstations and equipment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Food Preparation and basic Cooking for continental cuisine.
- Well-developed Culinary Skills with attention to taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Knowledge of kitchen Hygiene and food safety practices, including handling and storage.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with chefs and kitchen staff.
- Certificate or diploma in culinary arts or hotel management is preferred.
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen, ideally with exposure to continental cuisine, is an advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Team-oriented mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions accurately.
