Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Turning Programmer cum Setter to join our Toolroom team in Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end CNC turning operations, including programming, setting up fixtures/tools, and machining high-precision components, press tools, moulds, and custom tooling fixtures.

Key Responsibilities

- Programming & Setup: Write, edit, and optimize CNC turning programs (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls) directly at the machine console or using CAD/CAM software.
- Tooling & Fixtures: Select proper cutting tools, inserts, holders, and design/prepare clamping setups and fixtures for toolroom jobs.
- Machine Operation: Perform precise machine setups (work offsets, tool offsets, jaw soft-boring) and operate CNC turning centers to machine components strictly according to engineering drawings.
- Quality & Inspection: Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances and GD&T; specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and rectify machining issues, tool wear,



chatter, or dimensional deviations during runs.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC machines, maintain tool life records, follow shop-floor safety protocols, and maintain a clean work environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: ITI (Machinist / Turner / Tool & Die), Diploma, or B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering (or related disciplines).
- Experience: 1–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC turning programming and setting, preferably within a Toolroom workplace. (Motivated candidates with strong hands-on training are also welcome).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in manual G-code / M-code programming for CNC Turning.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or similar CNC controllers.
- Strong ability to read complex 2D engineering drawings and interpret GD&T; symbols.
- Hands-on expertise in setting up non-standard or small-batch toolroom parts.
