Cadency Platform Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Daily job and data load monitoring
- Monitor scheduled jobs and data loads feeding Cadency from upstream systems (ERP, banking, subledger, and other source systems) and confirm they ran on time and completed successfully.
- Identify failed, delayed, partial, or missing loads, and check file counts, record counts, and totals against expectations.
- Maintain a daily checklist or log of job status and exceptions, including what was found and how it was resolved.
Issue follow-up and resolution
- Contact the owning team or system contact when a job fails or data does not arrive correctly, and request a rerun or corrected file.
- Confirm the rerun completed and the data landed correctly in Cadency, and follow up until the issue is closed.
- Escalate recurring or time-sensitive failures, especially around month-end close, to the appropriate manager or system owner.
- Document root cause and resolution for recurring issues, and recommend fixes or process improvements.
Reconciliation support
- Verify reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule, and that source data supports them.
- Investigate unmatched items and out-of-balance accounts caused by missing, duplicate, or incorrect data, and route them to the right owner.
- Support the financial close calendar by flagging data issues that could delay reconciliation completion or sign-off.
Communication and reporting
- Give finance, accounting, and IT teams clear status updates on data load health and open issues.
- Prepare summary reports on job success rates, recurring failures,
and outstanding reconciliation items.
- Support audit and compliance requests with evidence of reconciliation and data load controls.
Must Have
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, financial operations, accounting operations, or application support.
- Hands-on experience with Cadency (or a comparable reconciliation or close tool such as BlackLine or ReconArt) and its data load processes.
- Solid grasp of reconciliation concepts: matching, aging, unmatched items, variances, and sign-off controls.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot missing, incomplete, or inaccurate data against expected volumes and totals.
- Ability to read job schedules and logs, and to tell whether an issue came from a failed job, a data problem, or a source system.
- Transparent, professional communication and persistence in following up with other teams until issues are resolved.
- Comfortable working to daily and month-end close deadlines.
- Good documentation habits for job status, exceptions, and resolutions.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of the interfaces feeding Cadency (file-based and batch feeds, mapping, validation).
- Basic SQL for validating and comparing data across systems.
- Familiarity with job schedulers or batch monitoring tools.
- Exposure to the source systems feeding Cadency, such as [Oracle / SAP / IBM i (AS400) / NetSuite].
- Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) for logging and tracking incidents.
- Accounting or finance background, or familiarity with the month-end close process.
- Experience supporting audit or SOX controls.
