Role Description The Backend Developer (Internship & Remote opportunity) will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power RxGPT’s healthcare automation platform. This is a full-time remote role focused on building APIs, integrating with hospital information systems, and ensuring secure and reliable data processing for AI agents.
Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing existing backend components, writing clean and testable code, and collaborating with frontend, AI, and product teams. The intern will assist in troubleshooting production issues, improving performance, and participating in code reviews and documentation to support scalable deployment across global healthcare customers.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess core backend development skills, such as proficiency in at least one server-side language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, or Java) and experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Candidates should possess database-related skills, including familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and basic knowledge of NoSQL data stores or caching technologies.
- Candidates should possess software engineering fundamentals, such as understanding of data structures and algorithms, version control with Git, and writing unit and integration tests.
- Candidates should possess deployment and infrastructure skills, including exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), or CI/CD workflows.
- Candidates should possess security and reliability awareness, including an understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization concepts, and basic monitoring or logging tools.
- Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in remote teams, follow documented processes, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial; prior exposure to healthcare or regulated environments is a plus.
