Purpose/Objective

Roles of Urban Designer An urban designer involves creating, adapting, or reviewing plans for urban spaces, development, revitalization or rebuilding of an area, addressing a wide range of issues - including political, economic, social, and environmental - from the local to federal level.

Involved in designing  urban environments in towns and cities  rural environments in villages  spatial areas, in parks, open landscapes

Key Responsibilities of Role

Responsibilities 1) Assisting in Preparation of Conceptual Development Proposal (Land use & Infrastructure) 2) Project area analysis through Primary & secondary information 3) Preparation of Drawings/documents/presentations/reports related to proposal for discussion with the senior management.

4) Field visit 5) Assisting in planning proposal review and plan preparation in accordance with the statutory guidelines, Acts, applicable Rules & Regulations etc.

6) Survey land and buildings, analyses their current use and make recommendations for their future development 7) be creative and innovative in your ability to picture buildings and landscapes in your mind before creating them on paper.

- create detailed drawings using your artistic or graphic skills, converting your vision into a technical drawing,



using specific programmes and software such as computer-aided design (CAD).

Technical Competencies

Planning proposal preparation, review & implementation,Urban design & planning concepts,Attention to detail, 3D sketches & Model preparation,Ability & adaptability to work on complex projects which are prone to change,Software – ACAD, Adobe Photoshop, Google Sketchup, 3D making & Rendering software

Qualifications and Experience

Experience: 3-5 years Qualification: Architect Urban Designer Required Skills  Passion for the complex and changeable scope and future of cities, towns, villages, and landscapes.

 Keen interest in both design and the built workplace and strong desire to make changes to the built environment for the better  Good technical and artistic skills with problem-solving mindset  An interest in working independently and as part of a multi-skilled team  Excellent attention to detail, 3D sketches & Model preparation.

 An ability to work on complex projects which are prone to change  Software – ACAD, Adobe Photoshop, Google Sketchup, 3D making & Rendering software.
