Role Description:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Accounts & Finance Head to join our school. The person will be directly responsible for the preparation, execution, verification and presentation of financial and accounting work for the educational society and its schools and colleges. The candidate must have hands on experience in accounts and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting in BUSY: Independently work on BUSY Accounting Software, including voucher entries, ledger scrutiny, reconciliations, adjustments, financial statements and month-end/year-end closing.
2. Budget Preparation: Personally prepare annual institutional budgets, department-wise expenditure budgets, revised forecasts and budget-versus-actual reports using BUSY data and Excel.
3. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS reports, Income & Expenditure Statements, Balance Sheets, cash-flow reports and consolidated society-level financial summaries.
4. Financial Analysis: Analyse salary costs, administrative expenditure, fee revenue, outstanding receivables, operating surplus and institution-wise financial performance.
5. Principal & Management Reviews: Independently prepare and present monthly financial reports to Principals, College Heads and Society Management, explaining financial performance and recommending corrective actions.
6. Fee & Payroll Reconciliation: Personally reconcile fee collection records, bank receipts, outstanding dues, payroll registers, statutory deductions and corresponding accounting entries.
7. Statutory Compliance: Independently prepare relevant compliance workings,



TDS calculations and returns, applicable GST records, audit schedules and other statutory financial documentation. Coordinate with external professionals where required.
8. Banking & Payments: Perform bank reconciliations, verify payment documentation, prepare payment schedules and monitor cash balances and financial commitments.
9. Financial Controls: Verify expenditure against approved budgets, review purchase documentation and ensure transactions are properly authorised and recorded.
10. Audit & Year-End Accounts: Prepare audit schedules, ledger reconciliations, supporting documentation and year-end financial statements for review by statutory auditors.
11. Financial Planning: Personally prepare cash-flow forecasts, capital expenditure assessments, fee revenue projections and financial feasibility reports for recent academic programmes or institutional expansion.
12. Data Accuracy & Accountability: Take direct ownership of the accuracy, completeness and timely delivery of financial records, reports and analyses.

Mandatory Candidate Requirement:

- This is a hands-on working position, not a purely supervisory or administrative role.
- The candidate must be proficient in independently performing accounting operations in BUSY, preparing financial reports and budgets in Microsoft Excel, interpreting financial statements and explaining financial information to senior management.
- The candidate must be willing and capable of performing detailed accounting and analytical work personally, while also coordinating with other accounts personnel wherever necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or related field (B.Com, BBA, etc.). MBA/CA preferred.

- 4–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the education sector.
