- Maintenance & Repair : Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, including machinery, control systems (PLC, SCADA), and instrumentation.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve electrical faults, equipment failures, and system issues to prevent downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance : Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to proactively avoid problems and ensure continuous operation.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and environmental rules.
- Record Keeping : Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Technical Support : Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.
- Inventory Management : Manage and track inventory of spare electrical parts and components, ordering as needed.
- Documentation & Reporting : Generate maintenance reports for management and investigate the root causes of failures to implement preventative measures.
- System Improvement :
Assist in the installation of new equipment and contribute to the development of reliability programs to improve equipment lifespan.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education : Typically requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, though some roles may accept an associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, control systems (PLC, SCADA), fault finding, and the maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills to identify and implement solutions for electrical issues.
- Collaboration : Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer Skills : Strong computer skills for operating systems and managing maintenance data.
