Job Summary

The TGT Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematics to students in Classes 6 to 10 , ensuring strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving ability, and logical reasoning. The teacher plans and delivers effective lessons in accordance with the curriculum guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or the respective school board.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach concepts such as algebra, geometry, arithmetic, statistics, and mensuration .
- Develop students’ analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills .
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, and assignments .
- Conduct regular assessments, tests, and examinations to evaluate student progress.
- Use interactive teaching methods, visual aids, and technology to enhance learning.

Classroom Management

- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Encourage active participation and cooperative learning among students.
- Identify students needing additional academic support and provide remedial teaching.

Student Evaluation & Documentation





- Maintain records of attendance, marks, and student progress .
- Provide feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Prepare report cards and progress reports as per school guidelines.

Co-curricular & School Activities

- Participate in school events, competitions, mathematics clubs, and academic activities .
- Support examination duties, school functions, and committees when required.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs .

Required Qualifications

- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized institution.
- Qualified in CTET / State TET preferred for many schools.

Skills Required

- Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner .
- Effective communication and classroom management skills .
- Ability to motivate students and build interest in mathematics .
- Basic knowledge of educational technology and digital teaching tools .

Experience

- 2-4 years teaching experience in a secondary school preferred.
