Job Summary

The TGT English Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literature to students in Classes 6 to 10 . The teacher will focus on developing students’ reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, and communication skills in alignment with the curriculum guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or the respective school board.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver English lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, literature, comprehension, and writing skills .
- Encourage students to develop speaking and communication skills through activities such as debates, storytelling, and presentations.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and teaching materials .
- Conduct regular tests, assessments, and examinations to evaluate students’ progress.
- Use creative teaching methods, audio-visual aids, and technology to enhance learning.

Classroom Management

- Maintain discipline and a positive classroom environment .
- Encourage student participation and interactive learning .
- Identify students needing extra academic support and provide remedial teaching.

Student Evaluation & Documentation





- Maintain records of student attendance, assessments, and progress reports .
- Provide feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Prepare report cards and academic documentation as required by the school.

Co-curricular Activities

- Organize or support literary activities such as debates, essay writing, poetry recitation, and drama .
- Participate in school events, competitions, and cultural activities .
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs .

Required Qualifications

- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized institution.
- Qualified in CTET / State TET preferred.

Skills Required

- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills .
- Strong knowledge of English grammar and literature .
- Effective classroom management and teaching skills .
- Creativity in teaching methods and student engagement .

Experience

- 2-4 years teaching experience in a secondary school preferred.
