Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of the library and ensure a conducive learning space.
- Issue and receive books, magazines, journals, and other library materials.
- Catalogue and classify books and resources using standard library systems.
- Maintain accurate and updated records (both digital and manual) of all library transactions.
- Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating books, references, and research materials.
- Ensure proper shelving, storage, and protection of library materials.
- Monitor library usage and maintain discipline and silence within the library premises.
- Update and manage library software and digital resources (if applicable).
- Purchase and recommend new books, periodicals, newspapers, and other learning resources as needed.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and inventory checks.
- Prepare regular reports on library activities for management.
- Organize reading drives, book fairs, and awareness programs to promote literacy.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib)



or Master’s Degree in Library Science (M.Lib).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a library or educational institution (freshers may be considered with strong skills).
- Proficiency in library cataloguing and classification.
- Familiarity with basic library management software and MS Office.
- Robust organizational and administrative skills.
