Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in India. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute your technical expertise to the training and evaluation of next-generation artificial intelligence systems. You will design realistic software engineering challenges that assess AI models' ability to write reliable code, implement features, resolve bugs, refactor complex codebases, and optimize performance. Your work will help improve the accuracy, reliability, and practical capabilities of AI-generated software through rigorous testing and deterministic verification. You will draw on your experience in backend development, algorithms, system design, debugging, and software quality assurance to create meaningful technical assessments. Working independently in a fully remote, flexible contract role, you will have the opportunity to apply your engineering judgment to cutting-edge AI development. Previous experience in AI is not required; strong software engineering skills and a commitment to high-quality technical work are what matter most. Accountabilities - Coding task development: Design realistic, challenging software engineering problems that evaluate AI systems across feature implementation, bug fixing, code refactoring, and performance optimization. - Create accurate, efficient, and maintainable reference implementations that demonstrate sound engineering practices and meet defined technical requirements. - Develop deterministic verification mechanisms, validation scripts, and comprehensive test cases to assess solution correctness and distinguish acceptable implementations from incomplete or incorrect submissions. - Backend engineering:



Apply expertise in backend systems, scalable services, API design, asynchronous processing, and distributed architectures to create practical engineering challenges. - Investigate complex defects, identify root causes, analyze performance bottlenecks, and design tasks that test effective problem-solving approaches. - Testing and quality assurance: Develop robust testing strategies, build and maintain comprehensive test suites, diagnose flaky tests, and improve software reliability through automated validation. - Assess implementations for correctness, readability, maintainability, security, performance, and compliance with established software engineering standards. - Create challenges that evaluate an AI system's ability to modernize legacy code, simplify complex implementations, improve algorithms, and optimize resource utilization. - Evaluate AI-generated solutions involving algorithms, architecture, debugging, system design, and implementation decisions. - Analyze model failures, identify recurring weaknesses, and refine coding tasks and evaluation methods to improve the quality and reliability of AI-generated software. Requirements - Significant skilled experience in software engineering, particularly backend development and production-grade applications or services. - Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Python 3, Java, Rust, TypeScript, C++, Node. js, Go, or comparable technologies. - Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable services, APIs, and reliable backend systems. - Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, computer science fundamentals, system design, and software architecture.
