Test is a crucial time in an IC development process; if you find a bug or an issue, it is a good time to fix it, but every additional second of testing we do, is additional cost when you scale a device into production. So, test engineers must identify the critical points of the device where testing is most necessary and the points where we may want to take some risk. Test engineers spend a good amount of time in the lab and when they're not there, they are designing test hardware using software tools like cadence and building test programs on an ATE simulator, or troubleshooting – the programs or the device.
Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and data centers are just a few of the trends driving the need for high-current multiphase switching power in the Enterprise market. The MPP team actively collaborates with TI's advanced technology, packaging and research and development teams to deliver the highest power density solutions for the power level.
At TI, Test Engineers leverage solid technical knowledge working hands-on to bring differentiated power solutions to our customers globally. Test Engineers also partner closely with Design, Test, Systems and Application engineers to ensure our power solutions are both meeting customer and market requirements and are cost-wise optimized.
