Steward Responsibilities (Male & Female)Guest service

- Greet guests warmly, seat them, and present the menu
- Explain dishes, ingredients, and spice levels, and suggest popular items (including Udupi and coastal specialties)
- Take orders accurately and place them with the kitchen or bar
- Serve food and beverages in the correct sequence and with proper etiquette
- Check back with guests during the meal and handle requests or complaints politely
- Present the bill, process payment, and thank guests on departure

Food and beverage service

- Set up tables with cutlery, crockery, glassware, napkins, and condiments
- Follow standard service rules (serve from the correct side, transparent plates only when all guests have finished)
- Serve at the pool, garden, banquet, or room-dining areas as assigned
- Support buffet setup, live counters, and refills

Cleanliness and hygiene

- Maintain personal hygiene: clean uniform, trimmed nails, hair tied or covered, name tag
- Clean and sanitise tables, chairs, trays, and the service area
- Follow FSSAI food safety and handling rules
- Keep the service station stocked and tidy

Operations

- Take part in pre-shift briefings and know the day's specials and out-of-stock items
- Coordinate with the kitchen, bar, cashier, and captain




- Report breakages, shortages, and maintenance issues
- Keep an accurate record of orders and bills
- Help with inventory and stock counts when required

Resort-specific duties

- Handle breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts, plus events, weddings, and group dining
- Serve resort guests, including families, tourists, and foreign guests
- Know resort facilities and timings (pool, spa, beach access, activities) to answer guest questions
- Follow safety procedures: fire, first aid, and emergency evacuation
- Handle guest privacy and complaints tactfully and escalate to the supervisor or manager when needed
- Typical RequirementsExperience: 0 to 3 years (freshers can be trained)
- Education: 10th/12th pass, or a hotel management diploma preferred
- Languages: Kannada, Tulu, and Hindi are an advantage; basic English
- Skills: Communication, grooming, teamwork, ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Gender: Open to both male and female candidates
- NotesShifts are usually 8 to 9 hours with a weekly off, and resort peak season (Oct to Mar) may need extra hours.
