Role Description The Senior Merchant will manage the end-to-end merchandising cycle, from product development through production and delivery, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards. This full-time, on-site role based in Manesar involves coordinating closely with design, production, sourcing, and quality teams to develop collections, finalize specifications, and monitor order execution. Daily responsibilities include handling buyer communication, preparing costings and price negotiations, tracking order status, and resolving issues related to materials, timelines, or quality.

Merchant will review samples, oversee approvals, and ensure adherence to sustainability and compliance guidelines.



The role also includes market and trend analysis, maintaining accurate documentation, and mentoring junior team members to support efficient merchandising operations. The expertise required in Knits.

Qualifications

- Strong merchandising and product development skills, including experience managing apparel collections from concept to shipment.
- Proficiency in buyer communication, order handling, and negotiation, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes, fabrics, trims, and production workflows, including lead times and capacity planning.
- Experience with costing, pricing, and margin analysis, and the ability to balance quality requirements with commercial viability.
- Familiarity with quality control standards, compliance requirements, and sustainable sourcing or production practices.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills, with attention to detail and proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textiles, Apparel Production, Business, or a related field; prior experience in a similar senior merchandising role in apparel manufacturing is highly beneficial.
- Must have prior experience in Knits merchandising, who have handle domestic buyer in knits.
