Job Purpose

1) Job Purpose

To lead and manage the operations of the Copper Slag Yard, and the Phosphoric Acid Plant Areaat two different geographical location, ensuring safe excavation, environmental compliance, efficient material dispatch, resource optimization, and budget management. This includes overseeing the excavation of copper slag, reclamation of the copper slag yard area, infrastructure upgrades, and land preparation for future industrial projects.

- Scope of Operations: Copper Slag Yard (300x120 Meters, stacking of material, & loading , Infrastructure Upgrades), Phosphoric Acid Plant (180x135 meters, Excavation to 2 meters below NGL and Reclamation)
- Material Throughput: copper slag excavation, dispatch, and site preparation for future industrial use.

1. Environment & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across all sites (copper slag yard, and pap area), particularly during excavation and reclamation efforts.
- Implement environmental protection measures to prevent contamination, such as groundwater protection and dust suppression.
- Enforce health and safety standards, especially during hazardous material handling and excavation in all areas.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments in coordination with the environmental and safety teams, ensuring corrective actions are taken where needed.

2. Copper Slag Yard Operations:

- Area Dimension: - 300X120 Mtrs
- Manage the excavation of copper slag to the bottom level, ensuring proper disposal and reuse of materials.
- Oversee infrastructure upgrades within the yard, including internal road improvements, drainage systems, and boundary wall construction.

3. Phosphoric Acid Plant Area Operations:

- Area Size: 180x135 meters
- Oversee the excavation of the pap plant area, ensuring safe removal of materials to a depth of 2.0 meters below NGL.
- Lead the reclamation of the PAP and DAP area by filling and compacting the excavated space for future use, following environmental and safety standards.
- Manage groundwater protection measures during excavation and reclamation to prevent contamination from past industrial use.
- Collaborate with the engineering and environmental teams to ensure proper stabilization and grading of the reclaimed area, preparing it for industrial or construction projects.

4. Resource & Workforce Management:

- Allocate resources across the two operational areas (copper slag yard, and PAP/DAP area), ensuring efficient use of machinery, personnel, and materials.
- Manage the workforce to ensure productivity, providing training, support, and direction to meet operational objectives.
- Optimize the utilization of heavy equipment, such as excavators, breakers, backhoes, dumper and compactors, to maximize efficiency across all sites.

6. Material Dispatch & Inventory Management:

- Oversee the dispatch of materials, including copper slag, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and customer requirements.
- Maintain inventory control, tracking material movements and storage to ensure operational efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation teams for timely delivery of materials,



minimizing delays in material handling.

7. Budget & Cost Control:

- Develop and manage the operational budget for all yard activities, including excavation, reclamation, infrastructure upgrades, and material dispatch.
- Monitor expenses, control costs, and provide regular financial updates to management, ensuring all activities stay within the budget.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures, such as optimizing resource use, preventing material loss, and improving process efficiencies.

- Internal Relationships: Collaborate closely with the environmental, safety, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- External Relationships: Coordinate with external contractors, regulatory bodies, and customers for excavation, infrastructure upgrades, reclamation, and material dispatch.

Challenges:

1. Copper Slag Yard:

- Excavation & Reclamation: Ensuring proper excavation to bottom level and preparing the yard for reclamation, all while upgrading infrastructure.
- Infrastructure Improvements: Overseeing the construction of roads, drainage systems, and boundary walls without disrupting operations.

2. Phosphoric Acid plant and DAP Area:

- Excavation Depth: Safely excavating to 2 meters below NGL while preventing environmental contamination.

- To supervise daily yard operations, including material handling, excavation, loading, and dispatching of copper slag. Ensure adherence to safety protocols, operational schedules, and environmental standards in all yard activities.
- To monitor and enforce environmental compliance in all yard operations, including excavation, material storage, and reclamation activities. Ensure proper environmental controls, such as dust suppression, groundwater protection, and waste management, are implemented.
- Managing the logistics and coordination of material dispatch from the yards to customers. Ensure timely, accurate, and secure loading and transportation of copper slag, while maintaining inventory control and documentation.
- To monitor and ensure the quality of materials being excavated and dispatched from the yard, ensuring they meet industry and customer specifications. Conduct regular inspections and report any non-conformance or material defects.
- Handle documentation, record-keeping, scheduling, and coordination with various internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
