Company Description RasoiRobotics Private Limited is a pioneering robotics company in the FoodTech domain, dedicated to simplifying commercial kitchen operations for Indian restaurants. Role SummaryWe are seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineering Consultant to lead and direct a team of two mechanical engineers through the full design, validation, and productionization cycle. This is a leadership and oversight role: the consultant will not personally execute design and analysis tasks, but must possess deep, hands-on expertise across every area below so they can set direction, review work rigorously, resolve complex technical problems, and hold the team accountable for delivering correct, production-ready outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities
• Direct the team in performing aggregate calculations and in selecting appropriate components and materials; review and validate their choices against first principles.
• Guide and review CAD part and assembly modelling and drawings, including tolerance stack-up analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the team’s output.
• Define the structural analysis and multibody dynamics approach; ensure engineers set up correct FEA inputs, and review and interpret results with them to guide design decisions against performance, safety, and reliability targets.
• Oversee the development of test cases, test environment setup, test execution, and detailed test reporting; verify methodology and sign off on results.
• Based on test outcomes, lead the team in identifying improvement areas, driving design modifications, and planning iterations or further testing until requirements are met.
• Ensure design intent is communicated to vendors clearly through 3D CAD, 2D drawings,

GD&T;, and engineering specifications, applying DFM and DFA principles; review the team’s vendor-facing documentation.
• Direct engagement with vendors and suppliers to develop and scale components to specification, stepping in to resolve technical escalations.
• Ensure the team develops and maintains BoMs, SOPs, release notes, change records, and validation reports to a high standard.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical issues across prototypes, production, and field returns, and ensure the team closes them out effectively.
• Set priorities, allocate work, mentor and upskill the two engineers, and ensure the required output is delivered on schedule and to quality. Requirements
• Strong capability in aggregate calculations and first-principles problem-solving on complex mechanical challenges — able to guide others and catch errors in their reasoning.
• Expertise in CAD, preferably Solid Edge, with the judgment to assess the quality and efficiency of models produced by the team.
• Deep knowledge of GD&T; and proficiency in tolerance stack-up analysis, sufficient to direct and review the team’s work.
• Hands-on structural analysis and multibody dynamics experience with tools such as Ansys and Adams,

enough to define the right approach and critically evaluate results.
• Robust working knowledge of manufacturing processes — machining, sheet metal, casting, welding — across multiple materials, and their impact on design decisions.
• Hands-on experience designing primary structures, mechanisms, jigs, and fixtures.
• Working knowledge of solid mechanics, load cases, and failure mechanisms.
• Proven experience producing and reviewing detailed documentation (BoMs, SOPs, test reports, change records).
• Familiarity with Design Thinking principles for ideation, problem-solving, and product design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small engineering team — setting direction, reviewing technical work, mentoring, coordinating across stakeholder teams, and consistently extracting quality output from others.
• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder teams. Preferred / Advantageous
• Experience conducting FMEAs and building and executing design validation test plans.
• Familiarity with relevant Indian and international standards and compliance regulations for industrial machinery and automated systems.
• Certified courses in Design Thinking.
• Cross-discipline knowledge (electronics, controls, or software).
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation.
• Patents, publications, or demonstrated contributions to innovation.
• Prior experience in a consulting or fractional leadership capacity. NOTE: Although this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates based in Pune, as we expect occasional in-person meetings and collaboration with the team.
