Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Operations Lead with deep expertise in SAP Payroll to lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple legal entities. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, employee benefits administration, payroll governance, controls, audit readiness, and payroll transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in payroll operations, compliance management, process automation, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end payroll processing activities using SAP Payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursement.
- Manage payroll operations across multiple legal entities and employee populations.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, TDS, and other labor law regulations.
- Oversee payroll inputs, validations, reconciliations, approvals, and payroll sign-off processes.
- Manage employee benefits administration including insurance, gratuity, superannuation, and retirement benefits.
- Establish and strengthen payroll governance, controls, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
- Drive payroll process improvements, digitization,



and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Taxation, Compliance, and external vendors for seamless payroll delivery.
- Handle payroll audits, statutory audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews.
- Prepare payroll MIS, analytics, dashboards, and management reports.
- Ensure proper resolution of employee payroll queries and escalations.
- Lead payroll transitions, system enhancements, and continuous improvement projects.
- Mentor and manage payroll team members, ensuring high-performance standards.

Mandatory Skills

- 13-15 years of experience in Payroll Operations.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP Payroll.
- Experience managing large-scale payroll operations across multiple legal entities.
- Deep knowledge of Indian payroll statutory compliances including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, and TDS.
- Expertise in payroll governance, controls, risk management, and audit compliance.
- Robust understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Experience in payroll transformation, automation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Advanced Excel and MIS reporting skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
