About the Role
Software Engineer – Control Systems (Siemens S7 /Beckhoff TwinCAT)

Your Responsibilities
1. PLC Software Development & Integration
- Design, implement, test, and document PLC software for special-purpose machines using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3
(IEC 61131-3 / Structured Text) and Siemens S7 (TIA Portal).

2. HMI & Visualization

- Develop and maintain modern machine user interfaces using TwinCAT HMI and WinCC (TIA/Unified),
focusing on usability, diagnostics, and standardization.

3. Commissioning & Troubleshooting
- Analyze software issues in production environments, perform root cause analysis, and implement robust
solutions (e.g., PROFINET, EtherCAT, Motion Control, Safety).

4. Architecture & Engineering Practices
- Contribute to structured and maintainable software architectures, applying object-oriented programming
principles (TwinCAT 3) and modern development practices.

5. Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with the German development team, participate in design reviews, and maintain transparent and
structured documentation.

6. Continuous Improvement
- Derive improvements from incidents, promote reusable components, and contribute to internal standards
and libraries.

7. Knowledge Transfer
- Support and train local maintenance teams in software diagnostics and new features.

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or comparable
• Proven experience in PLC software development for industrial machines (typically 3–8+ years)
• Strong knowledge of Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 (ST, IEC 61131-3)




• Experience with object-oriented programming in TwinCAT 3
• Solid understanding of modern control system architectures
• Experience in developing web-based HMIs (TwinCAT HMI, Java Script, CSS)
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Good English communication skills (B2/C1)

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with:
WinCC Unified
Git-based version control
OPC UA, MQTT, ADS
Knowledge in:
Siemens S7 / TIA Portal (SCL, FB, FC)
Motion Control, Drives, Safety systems (ISO 13849, IEC 62061)
Industrial communication (PROFINET, EtherCAT)
•Basic programming knowledge in:
C# or Python (e.g., for tooling, testing, or diagnostics)
• Experience with IoT / Edge systems or MES integration

• Travel readiness (~10–20%) for onboarding and project phases in Germany
