We're Hiring: Creative Video Editor & Motion Designer Intern Role: Creative Video Editor & Motion Designer Intern Duration: 4–5 month paid internship Stipend: ₹10,000 per month
Location:
Remote, open to candidates based in India Focus: Video editing, motion graphics and social media content Future: The top performer is selected as our Creative Lead Reports to: Product Lead, Silwatech About Silwatech Silwatech is a Dubai-headquartered custom software and AI solutions company, with its engineering and delivery centre in Ahmedabad, India. About the Opportunity Silwatech is preparing to launch a recent product, and we're building the creative team behind it. You'll help shape how the product looks and feels on social media, and build its audience from zero. We'll share more about the product at the interview stage, and full details once you join and sign an NDA.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled, creative video editor and motion designer: someone who knows the craft of editing, motion, colour, sound and design, and can turn an idea into a polished short video people stop scrolling for, every week. This is not an AI-generation role. We need real hands-on skill in professional editing and design software. AI tools are a plus when they help you work faster, but they never replace craft and taste. How Selection Works: A Creative Competition This internship is a competition. We're bringing on a small group of interns, and you'll all create content for the same product, in parallel, over the same 4–5 months. We'll evaluate everyone on:
• Craft and quality: editing, motion, colour, sound and design. How premium, clear and on-brand your work looks.
• Creativity: original ideas, strong hooks and storytelling.
• Technical skill: how well you use professional tools, and how quickly you learn new ones.
• Results: the watch time, saves, shares, follows and sign-ups your videos bring in.
• Output and reliability: how many finished videos you deliver, on time, every week.
• Ownership: your initiative and how you act on feedback. At the end, the strongest performer will be selected as our Creative Lead, leading our creative team as it grows, with many more opportunities in the future. Depending on performance and business needs, this may include the opportunity to relocate to our UAE headquarters. Every intern is paid throughout the internship, and everyone who completes it receives a certificate.
What You'll Do
1. Create short-form videos
• Take an idea from concept to finished video: storyboard, edit, motion graphics, colour, sound design, captions and export.
• Produce launch teasers, product promos, motion-graphic explainers and short-form videos for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.
• Work to a premium standard: clean, minimal and cinematic, like the best product launch films. No generic templates.
• Adapt every video to each platform: aspect ratio, length, pacing and captions. 2. Design and motion
• Build motion graphics, animated typography and transitions in After Effects.
• Design thumbnails, covers, social posts and brand templates in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma or Canva.
• Help create a consistent visual style for the product: colour, type and motion rules. 3. Use AI where it adds value
• Use AI tools (for example Runway, Kling, ElevenLabs or Midjourney) for ideas, voiceovers, B-roll or clean-up, then refine the result with your own editing and design skills.
• Know when AI output is good enough, and when to throw it away. 4. Deliver, measure, improve
• Deliver finished videos every week, on schedule.
• Track what matters: hook rate (first 3 seconds), average watch time, saves, shares, follows and sign-ups. Views alone are not the goal.
• Review your results every week: what worked, what didn't, and what you'll test next.
• Follow the trends, sounds and formats on each platform, and adapt them to our brand rather than copying them.
• Keep a record of licences and rights for every piece of footage, music and font you use. What We're Looking For Must have
• Based in India.
• A degree, diploma or certification in film, video production, animation, multimedia or graphic design, or equivalent professional experience. Final-year students are welcome.
• Strong hands-on skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• Solid motion graphics skills in Adobe After Effects.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop or Illustrator, plus Figma or Canva.
• Video fundamentals: storytelling, pacing, composition, colour correction and grading, typography,
sound design and mixing, and the right export settings for each platform.
• A good understanding of short-form video: hooks, Reels and Shorts structure, captions and trends.
• A portfolio of original work you made yourself.
• Excellent English, written and spoken.
• A laptop or workstation that can handle professional editing software, and a reliable internet connection. Nice to have
• Experience with AI tools used to support your work.
• 3D skills (Blender or Cinema 4D).
• Camera, lighting and filming skills.
• You've grown a social media account, your own or a brand's.
• Experience leading or coordinating a small team. Growth
• Clear goals and a scorecard shared in your first week, with a review at the midpoint.
• The top performer is selected as Creative Lead for a long-term role, with the possibility of relocating to our UAE headquarters in the future.
• Internship certificate for everyone who completes, plus credit for your work in your portfolio once the product launches.
• You'll sign an internship agreement and an NDA before you start.
How to Apply
- Send us: 1. Your CV. 2. A link to your portfolio or showreel (a 1–2 minute showreel is preferred). 3. 3–5 videos you made. For each one, add a line on what you personally did (editing, motion, colour, sound, design) and the software you used. 4. At least one product promo, launch teaser or motion-graphics piece, if you have one. 5. The software you use, with your level in each (beginner, intermediate or advanced). Important: Applications without a portfolio or video samples will not be shortlisted. Portfolios made only of AI-generated clips will not be considered. Hiring Process 1. Portfolio review. 2. Short creative task: a 20–30 second vertical video from a brief and assets we send (about 2–3 hours). You'll submit the final video and your project file. It's for evaluation only and won't be published. 3. 30-minute video interview, where you walk us through your edit and we tell you more about the product. Our Ideal Candidate A skilled, creative editor and motion designer who knows the craft, not just the tools. Someone who can make a product look exciting, communicate its value in seconds, and do it again next week. If you love editing, motion design and building something from zero, we'd love to see your work. Silwatech welcomes applicants from every background.
