Head of Onboarding & Event Management India ( Investment Banking)

Overview of Role The Onboarding & Event Management Module is comprised of 4 key pillars:

Data Management,

Third party setup,

Derivative Onboarding and Broker Management.

The team is tasked with delivering all onboarding activities required to bring a Client or Client Fund to life on our Investment platform.

The primary responsibility of this candidate is to efficiently manage the delivery of the end-to-end setup, maintenance, and closure of mandates, portfolios, agreements, and related accounts across key systems. You will be responsible for developing and managing a multiskilled team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop team members across multiple locations fostering a culture of collaboration and openness.
- Oversee daily operations and performance of the team, ensuring delivery of a high-quality service to clients and stakeholders.
- Work with the Head of Onboarding Delivery & Oversight to manage prioritisation of onboarding activities.
- Manage the teams capacity, ensuring all activities are allocated, monitored and delivered against agreed timelines and SLA’s
- Identify end-to-end process enhancements for efficiency gains and risk reduction, ensuring all changes are agreed before being implemented.
- Monitor market and regulatory changes and where required implement changes to processes and procedures
- Ensure strict adherence to all procedures and ensure that process outcomes are fully trackable and auditable.
- Ensure strict adherence to group policies and compliance within your function.
- Ensure risk is managed and our risk recording policy is strictly adhered to and notify the Head of Global Platform Onboarding as any issues arrive.
- Monitor and review error trends to prevent reoccurrence.

Overview of the areas you will be responsible for delivering:

Data Management

- Set up, maintain and close mandates, portfolios and accounts across Aladdin, IRIS and Client business data masters.
- Maintain core operational data, including Aladdin Accounting data, settlement instructions, trade delivery configuration and cash flow notifications.




- Set up and maintain related third-party and counterparty data, including pay away brokers, credit risk counterparties, custodians and external reporting.
- Perform quality assurance checks to keep data aligned across platforms and in line with agreed rules.
- Review data quality control exceptions to support strong data governance and maintain high data standards.

Derivative Onboarding
- Open derivative trading accounts covering OTC Bilateral, OTC Cleared, FX, ETD, Term Deposits, TBA’s, CFD’s and Loans with external market vendors, ensuring the end-to-end process is delivered on time.
- Document all required onboarding information clearly and keep key parties updated from initiation through to completion.
- Maintain accurate operational data across internal databases and external platforms.
- Keep due diligence documentation up to date in Markit KYC and ensure broker permissions are appropriate and approved.
- Support process improvement, maintain operating controls, and respond to counterparty and broker queries quickly and clearly. Broker management:
- Onboard and maintain broker relationships across Clients systems, including execution brokers, term deposit brokers and related accounts.
- Complete financial crime due diligence for new broker relationships and monitor existing relationships on an ongoing basis.
- Distribute Clients due diligence documentation and Terms of Business to brokers as required.
- Support effective team delivery by mentoring Broker Management colleagues, identifying training gaps and keeping procedures up to date.
- Drive process improvements, ensure controls and operating guidelines are followed, and escalate issues promptly to the Onboarding Manager. 3rd Party Setup:




- Complete custodian account opening documentation and support market openings for clients and Client funds, including complex documented markets and repatriation of non base currencies
- Manage custodian standing instructions, settlement instructions in DTCC
- Set up and maintain third-party, Wall Street Office, and Triana accounts to support CFD and loan trading.
- Maintain broker-related macros, validate market accounts before trading, and support smooth trade settlement.
- Monitor India trading accounts, complete FPI licence renewals
- Support Global Custodian Direct implementation projects.

What you'll be like

- 15+ years of experience gained within an Asset Management operations team or other Financial Services team delivering some or all of these onboarding activities.
- Experience within a senior operations management role
- Experience of developing and managing a multiskilled team
- Proven track record of enhancing processes and procedures
- Excellent understanding of operational risk
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with internal and external teams, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned throughout the onboarding process.
- Strong organisational abilities are needed to manage the delivery of multiple events simultaneously, prioritising tasks and maintaining a smooth and effective workflow.
- The ability to identify issues and develop solutions quickly and effectively is important for addressing any challenges that may arise during the onboarding process.
- In depth understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements
- The ability to analyse data and workflows to implement processes change and enhance the efficiency of the onboarding delivery
- Strong relationship management and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
