We're hiring a (freelancer) senior UX designer to own the end-to-end customer experience of a fast-scaling D2C product, working from our Gurgaon office.

About the role

Our customers are growing faster than our experience can keep up with, and every friction point now costs us at scale. This role exists to fix that: to make buying, using and coming back to our product feel effortless.

You won't be handed pixel-pushing tickets. You'll decide what problems are worth solving, prove it with customers and data, and ship it with product and engineering in weeks, not quarters.

We're looking for someone who starts from the customer, not from a design trend or a competitor's screen, and who reasons from first principles when the playbook runs out.

What you'll do

- Own the core journeys end to end: discovery, product page, cart and checkout, post-purchase, reorder and support, across app and web.
- Stay close to customers every week: run interviews, watch session recordings, read reviews and support tickets, and bring what you learn back to the team.
- Frame problems before solving them: break fuzzy asks into the real customer problem, the underlying assumptions and the smallest test that settles them.
- Design for business outcomes: tie your work to conversion, AOV, repeat rate, NPS and support volume, and set up A/B tests with product and growth.
- Ship fast, with craft: move from sketch to high-fidelity prototype to production in tight loops, partnering closely with engineering on what actually goes live.
- Build the foundations:



set up or evolve the design system, UX principles and research cadence so quality scales as the team grows.
- Raise the bar: mentor designers, run design critiques and help hire as the team grows.

What we're looking for

- 7+ years in UX/product design, with a portfolio of shipped consumer products, not only concepts.
- Hands-on experience in a high-growth D2C or consumer internet company, ideally through a phase of rapid scale (for example, 3x+ growth in users or revenue).
- Customer-first by instinct: you can name the last five customers you spoke to and what changed because of it. You push back when a decision is made for internal convenience at the customer's expense.
- First-principles thinking: you question inherited assumptions, reason from what customers actually need and can explain why a design works, not just that it looks right.
- Comfort with data: you read funnels and cohorts, form hypotheses and design experiments, and know when qualitative insight should overrule a number.
- End-to-end craft: strong in research, interaction design, visual design and prototyping (Figma or similar).
- Clear communicator: you can make the case for a design to founders, engineers and marketers in plain language.
- Bias for action: you're energised by ambiguity and pace, and happy working in person with the team in Gurgaon.

Nice to have

- Experience designing for Indian consumers across tier 1, 2 and 3 cities, including vernacular, COD and low-bandwidth contexts.
- Background in subscription, replenishment or loyalty experiences.
- Experience building or leading a small design team.
- Working knowledge of front-end basics, motion or no-code prototyping tools.
