DevOps Engineer – GitHub Actions Migration & Validation

Level: Mid-Level DevOps Engineer

Primary Focus: GitHub Actions pipeline configuration, integration support, migrated-pipeline validation, environment testing and issue remediation

Project: GoCD to GitHub Actions Migration & Modernization.

Required Skills

This role requires solid hands-on DevOps experience

Core Technical Skills

3–5+ years of hands-on DevOps/CI/CD engineering experience.

Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, including YAML workflows, workflow inputs, reusable workflows, variables/secrets, artifacts and self-hosted runners.

Working knowledge of Ansible, including playbook execution, inventory, variables and troubleshooting.

Experience supporting CI/CD deployments to on-premises and/or AWS environments.Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to application delivery, such as EC2, ECS/EKS, ECR and IAM.

Experience with Docker/container-based application delivery.

Familiarity with artifact/package repositories such as Nexus, AWS ECR and GitHub Packages.





Strong YAML and shell scripting skills; Python scripting knowledge is beneficial. Experience reviewing pipeline logs and troubleshooting build/deployment failures. Understanding of credentials, secrets, certificates, DNS, networking and connectivity as they relate to CI/CD execution.

Understanding of multi-environment application delivery and promotion through DEV, QA, Pre-Prod and Production.

Familiarity with Git, branching, pull requests and repository permissions. Delivery skills:

Ability to follow established architecture, reusable workflow standards and migration patterns.

Ability to independently execute repeatable pipeline migration/validation activities across multiple applications.

Ability to distinguish pipeline defects from application, environment, runner or infrastructure problems and route issues appropriately.

Solid documentation and defect-tracking discipline.

Ability to work with Senior DevOps Engineers, application teams, infrastructure teams, DB DevOps engineers.
