About the role

We’re looking for a crypto-native BD / Growth Head to own trader acquisition and relationships for an early-stage DeFi protocol.

This isn't a conventional growth role focused on running campaigns, building large funnels, or acquiring millions of users. The goal is much more concentrated: identify, engage, and bring onboard a relatively small group of highly active DeFi traders who can drive meaningful trading volume.

You should already be deeply plugged into the DeFi trading ecosystem — particularly perpetuals, high-leverage trading, DEXs, DAOs, Discord communities, and the networks where serious on-chain traders spend their time.

Ideally, you're an active trader yourself.

What you'll own

- Trader acquisition: Identify and bring high-value, active DeFi traders onto the protocol.
- Trader relationships: Build trusted, long-term relationships with traders and turn those relationships into adoption, feedback, repeat usage, and referrals.
- Community-led growth: Operate directly within Discords, DAOs, trading groups, and other crypto-native communities where sophisticated traders congregate.
- Protocol positioning: Understand what matters to high-leverage traders and communicate the product and its mechanics in a way that resonates with them.
- Early adoption: Work directly with the founder to build the initial trader base and generate meaningful trading activity.
- Feedback loops: Stay close to traders, understand what drives or blocks adoption, and bring those insights back into product and growth decisions.
- Zero-to-one growth: Build the acquisition motion from scratch rather than relying on an established growth engine, large team, or mature playbook.

You'll be a outstanding fit if

- You have roughly 5-10 years of experience, with substantial exposure to crypto and DeFi.




- You understand perpetuals, leverage, liquidations, DEX mechanics, liquidity, incentives, and on-chain trading behaviour.
- You personally trade or have significant first-hand exposure to platforms such as Hyperliquid, Lighter, or similar DeFi DEXs.
- You're already part of relevant trading communities, Discords, DAOs, and crypto-native networks.
- You know serious DeFi traders personally and understand what gets them to try and continue using a protocol.
- You've worked across growth, ecosystem, community, BD, partnerships, or trader acquisition in crypto.
- You can point to users or communities you've personally acquired, activated, or grown — not just campaigns you've managed.
- You're comfortable operating independently in a small, fast-moving seed-stage team.
- You're hands-on and would rather speak directly with traders than manage a large growth team.

What we are not looking for

This probably isn't the right role if your experience is primarily:

- Traditional Web2 business development or partnerships.
- Paid/performance marketing and broad consumer acquisition.
- Managing growth teams without personally acquiring users.
- General crypto exposure without a strong understanding of DeFi trading.
- Community management measured primarily through followers, impressions, Discord members, or other vanity metrics.

The person we're really looking for

You might currently be an Ecosystem Lead, Community Lead, Growth Lead, BD Lead, Partnerships Lead, DAO Contributor, protocol operator, or something completely different.

The title matters less than whether you're genuinely in the trenches of DeFi trading.

If you're already trading, know the ecosystem deeply, have credibility with active traders, and know how to turn those relationships into protocol adoption, we'd love to speak with you.

Compensation: $60,000–$100,000 annually
