About The Role
At Purplle, we are building a portfolio of beauty and personal care brands that sell across general trade,
modern trade, e-commerce and quick commerce. To scale them, we need a planning system that puts the right product in the right channel at the right time, with the least working capital tied up. We are looking for a Product Manager to build the core of that system: the products that power demand and supply planning for our FMCG business.
This is a high-impact, zero-to-one role.
- Youll work alongside the Senior Product Manager who leads our demand and supply planning
products, and own the execution and scale-up of our demand planning, S&OP; and supply planning products.
- Together, you'll replace spreadsheet-based planning with connected demand and supply
planning products that span our own plants and contract manufacturers.
- Your products will directly drive forecast accuracy, product availability across channels,
inventory efficiency and working capital, with a tangible impact on the company's bottom line and on how fast our brands can grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Roadmap & Execution: Set a prioritised roadmap with the Senior Product Manager and own
delivery.
- Demand Planning: Build demand forecasting, sensing and planning at range, channel, product
and region level, including new product forecasting.
- S&OP; Collaboration: Build the tool that runs the monthly S&OP; cycle and aligns sales, planning
and finance on one plan.
- Supply Planning: Take FG Buying live and scale it into end-to-end supply planning.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with planners, operations, sales (GT, MT, e-commerce, quick
commerce), finance, data science and engineering to define requirements and drive adoption.
- Discovery & Delivery: Run discovery with planners, write PRDs and user stories, and manage the
backlog with agile teams.
- KPI Ownership: Own forecast accuracy and bias,
fill rate for modern trade and quick commerce,
inventory health (days, excess, expiry) and adoption of the planning products.
- AI-Native Building: Identify where AI and LLMs can create outsized value in planning, such as
explaining forecast changes, surfacing demand anomalies and automating routine plan reviews. Build these into the products, not as add-ons, and use AI tools to accelerate your own discovery,
specs and analysis.
Desired Skills And Requirements
- About 2 years of product management experience with explicit ownership: you have taken
products from discovery through delivery and adoption, ideally in supply chain, operations or internal tools.
- Hands-on exposure to demand and supply planning: forecasting and how accuracy is measured,
S&OP;, and inventory norms (safety stock, reorder points).
- Exposure to Indian general trade, modern trade and quick commerce.
- Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of SQL; you make decisions backed by data.
- First-principles and systems thinking: you break ambiguous problems into structured pieces and
Reason About How Forecasting, S&OP; And Supply Planning Connect.
- High ownership and bias for action: you drive problems to resolution without waiting to be told.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and experience working cross-functionally in agile
teams.
- Engineering undergraduate degree. An MBA from a Tier 1 business school is good to have.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Python for analysis or prototyping.
- BI tools such as Looker, Tableau or Metabase.
- Hands-on use of a planning tool such as o9, Kinaxis or SAP IBP.
- Exposure to ML-based forecasting or replenishment products.
What You Will Gain
- Zero-to-one ownership of demand and supply planning products for a fast-growing FMCG
portfolio.
- Monthly S&OP; cycle exposure with sales, supply and finance leaders.
- A clear growth path, with your scope expanding as the products scale.
