Location: Gothenburg, SwedenEmployment Type: ContractWork Arrangement: Hybrid – at least 2 days per week in the officeSeniority Level: SeniorAssignment Period: 11 January 2027 – 31 December 2027Language Requirement: English – ProficientAbout the RoleSperton is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support our client in Gothenburg and contribute to the development of Seamless Charging, a digital service connecting vehicles, charging infrastructure, and service providers to make public EV charging easier and more seamless for drivers.You will join a small, experienced team at an significant stage of the product journey, helping prepare the service for customer use and supporting its continued development. The role focuses on building backend services using Python on AWS, developing integrations across multiple systems, and collaborating closely with customers, partners, and technical stakeholders.We are looking for an experienced backend engineer with strong cloud expertise, sound software engineering practices, and a passion for building reliable, secure, and maintainable digital services.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and evolve backend services using Python on AWS.Develop and maintain APIs and integrations connecting vehicle data, charging networks, service providers, and customer systems.Translate product requirements and partner use cases into practical, scalable technical solutions.Contribute to system architecture, API design, data flows,



and security approaches.Write automated tests and participate in code reviews to maintain high software quality.Improve development workflows and tools to support efficient and reliable software delivery.Collaborate with engineers, architects, product stakeholders, customers, and external partners in an international environment.Contribute to ongoing product development and identify opportunities for technical improvements.What We're Looking ForStrong professional experience in backend software development using Python.Solid experience with AWS and cloud-based services.Good understanding of API design, backend architecture, and system integrations.Experience with software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and maintainable code.Ability to design and develop reliable, scalable systems.Strong communication skills and confidence working with external partners and technical stakeholders.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Availability to work from the Gothenburg office at least two days per week.Experience with Java is a plus.About SpertonSperton is an international recruitment and workforce solutions company supporting organizations with talent acquisition, staffing and consultancy, People Management, Global Mobility, and business support.
