Role: Fabric Platform Engineer

Total Experience: 5+ years

Role Overview

The Fabric Platform Engineer will implement and configure the Microsoft Fabric platform foundation, including workspaces, platform settings, OneLake shortcuts, monitoring and operational setup. The role will translate approved architecture and platform standards into a secure, reliable and operationally ready environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provision and configure Microsoft Fabric workspaces, capacities and platform resources in line with approved architecture.
- Implement workspace structures, access permissions, environment configurations and naming conventions.
- Configure OneLake shortcuts and required platform connectivity and integration settings.
- Support Fabric tenant and workspace administration, including relevant configuration and access management.
- Implement platform monitoring, operational dashboards, alerting and health checks.
- Support capacity utilisation monitoring,



performance troubleshooting and resource optimisation.
- Configure and validate platform settings required for development, testing, UAT and production.
- Develop routine operational scripts and automation for platform administration and repetitive activities.
- Troubleshoot platform configuration, connectivity, permission and operational issues.
- Maintain platform runbooks, configuration records, operational procedures and support documentation.
- Collaborate with the architect, DevOps engineer, data engineers and QA engineer to support deployment and production readiness.

Required Skills and Experience

- 5+ years of overall IT experience, including 3+ years in cloud platform engineering, data platform administration or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric workspace administration and platform configuration.
- Understanding of Fabric capacities, workspaces, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse and shortcuts.
- Experience with access control, Microsoft Entra ID, workspace roles and permissions.
- Familiarity with Azure services, networking, connectivity and security fundamentals.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and operational support.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell, Python or similar scripting for routine administration.
- Understanding of development and production environment separation and platform operational procedures.

Preferred: Microsoft Fabric or Azure certifications and experience supporting enterprise cloud data platforms.
