We are currently seeking a Lead Engineer – NDE (Quality), to join our Quality team based in Dahej, Gujarat.

About us:

Technip Energies is a global technology and engineering powerhouse. With leadership positions in LNG, hydrogen, ethylene, sustainable chemistry, and CO2 management, we are contributing to the development of critical markets such as energy, energy derivatives, decarbonization, and circularity. Our complementary business segments, Technology, Products and Services (TPS) and Project Delivery, turn innovation into scalable and industrial reality.

Through collaboration and excellence in execution, our 17,000+ employees across 34 countries are fully committed to bridging prosperity with sustainability for a world designed to last.

About the prospect we offer:

Job Purpose:

To perform, evaluate, and accurately report Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) on materials and welds across the shop floor. The NDE Engineer ensures that all testing activities strictly comply with ASME Codes of Construction, AWS, EN ISO standards (ISO 3834, EN 1090), and approved company procedures. This role is responsible for the timely submission of NDE reports, defect identification, and seamless day-to-day coordination with Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies and Authorized Inspectors (AI).

Job Responsibilities:

NDE Execution & Evaluation:

- Perform daily shop-floor Non-Destructive Examinations (LPE, MT, UT, and RT film interpretation) on raw materials, weld joints, and fabricated components.
- Evaluate and interpret test results strictly against the acceptance criteria defined in approved NDE procedures, approved drawings, Quality Control Plans (QCP), and ASME/EN codes.
- Perform visual examinations (VT) of welds prior to and during NDE, ensuring compliance with near-vision acuity and colour contrast requirements.

On-Time Reporting & Documentation:

- Generate, sign,

and submit accurate NDE reports concurrently with physical testing to ensure zero delays in production flow and final Manufacturing Data Record (MDR) compilation.
- Maintain accurate traceability of tested joints, welder IDs, and component heat numbers on all NDE reports.

External Coordination (AI, TPI & Customer)

- Coordinate on the shop floor with Client Representatives, Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, and ASME Authorized Inspectors (AI) to facilitate NDE witness and hold points.
- Present calibration records, NDE procedures, and qualification certificates to external inspectors upon request and assist them during joint reviews or film interpretation sessions.

Equipment Calibration & Control

- Perform daily verification and routine calibration of all NDE equipment (e.g., UT flaw detectors, yokes, light meters, densitometers) prior to use.
- Maintain updated calibration logs and immediately quarantine any defective or out-of-calibration instruments.
- Prepare, maintain, and control NDE calibration blocks and reference standards, ensuring proper identification, calibration validity, traceability, storage, and serviceability.
- Maintain NDE probes, cables, scanners, and other accessories required for specific NDE methods, ensuring their availability, compatibility, and working condition.

Defect Identification, NCR & RCA

- Identify unacceptable indications or defects immediately and communicate results to the QC and Production teams.
- Assist in raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective welds or materials.
- Participate in cross-functional Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings to help identify the metallurgical or process-related causes of recurring welding defects

Subcontractor Support & Safety Compliance

- Assist the Head NDE in monitoring outsourced NDE subcontractor activities (such as night-shift radiography or AUT) to ensure they follow safety and quality procedures.
- Strictly follow all HSE requirements, particularly radiation safety protocols, working at heights, and confined space entry during testing

Starting Date: October 2026
