Surface Preparation & Blasting Inspection:
- Inspect surface preparation and abrasive blasting to verify required surface cleanliness and preparation grades prior to coating application.
- Verify surface profile and contamination levels through applicable inspection and testing methods in accordance with project requirements.
- Perform surface contamination checks as specified in the ITP, such as dust level tests and soluble salt contamination testing (Bresle method).
Application & In-Process Inspection:
- Inspect coating application activities, including paint mixing, stripe coating and application methods, as per approved specifications and procedures.
- Monitor coating parameters such as WFT, environmental conditions, inter-coat intervals and curing requirements.
- Inspect touch-up and repair activities to ensure proper surface preparation, application and final coating quality.
Final Inspection, Testing & Documentation:
- Perform final visual inspection of completed coating works and identify coating defects and non-conformities.
- Measure and verify Dry Film Thickness (DFT) and other coating quality parameters as per applicable standards, ITP and project requirements.
- Perform/coordinate specialized coating tests such as adhesion, holiday detection, solvent rub and other project-specific testing.
- Prepare, review and maintain coating inspection records, test reports, inspection reports and NCR documentation.
- Coordinate with Client, TPIA and other stakeholders during inspection, witness and hold points and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
