Job Description
About the role
As Senior Manager – Bhumi Clubs & National Programmes, you will lead the growth and evolution of Bhumi Clubs as a national, volunteer-led movement for sustained community action. The role will combine network building, volunteer leadership, programme scale and institutional partnerships, with responsibility for multiple education, and community-impact initiatives delivered through the Clubs ecosystem.
You will build a scalable model for Clubs across India—enabling strong local leadership while creating common systems, governance, quality standards and impact frameworks. You will work closely with programme, fundraising, partnerships and operations teams to build a sustainable ecosystem that can grow across geographies without losing quality or volunteer ownership.
Success in this role will be measured through the growth and health of the Clubs movement, strength of local leadership, volunteer engagement and retention, programme scale and outcomes, strategic partnerships, financial sustainability and the ability to replicate the model across India.
About the Programme
Bhumi Clubs is envisioned as a national movement of volunteer-led Clubs that brings together people who want to contribute consistently to their communities. Inspired by the strength of membership-led community networks, Clubs provide a local platform through which volunteers can participate, lead and create sustained impact.
Through the Clubs ecosystem, Bhumi will deliver and scale multiple initiatives across education, community development and other social-impact areas. The model combines local ownership with a common Bhumi framework, enabling Clubs to respond to local needs while contributing to national programmes and goals.
The long-term vision is to build a strong, distributed network of community leaders and volunteers across India who can create sustained impact through collective action.
Roles & Responsibility
- Strategy & Growth Define and drive the national strategy, growth roadmap and annual goals for Bhumi Clubs. Identify opportunities to establish Clubs across cities, institutions, campuses and communities.
- Leadership & Team Development - Lead, coach and develop the Clubs management team and build a strong second line of leadership. Establish clear ownership, accountability, performance expectations and review mechanisms. Build the capability of Club leaders and volunteers through structured training, mentoring and recognition.
- Partnerships & Representation - Build strategic relationships with corporates, educational institutions, universities, government, NGOs, community organisations and other ecosystem partners. Represent Bhumi Clubs at relevant forums and build the credibility and visibility of the network.
- Systems, Governance & Scale - Build scalable SOPs, governance structures, reporting mechanisms and operating systems for a distributed national network.
Ensure consistency in quality, compliance and experience while enabling local ownership and innovation.
- Innovation & Future Readiness -Identify emerging opportunities in volunteering, education, employability and community development. Experiment with new models of volunteer-led action and develop successful pilots into scalable programmes. Keep the Clubs model relevant to changing volunteer behaviours, community needs and institutional opportunities.
Educational Qualification and Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in programme management, network building, community development, volunteering, partnerships, social impact or a related field.
- Experience managing distributed teams/networks, multi-location programmes or membership/volunteer-led models will be an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into execution and measurable outcomes.
- Experience in building and scaling programmes, networks or community-led initiatives.
- Solid people leadership, coaching and team-development skills.
- Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across corporates, institutions and the social sector.
- Strong understanding of volunteer/community engagement models.
- Strong business acumen, financial understanding and resource planning skills.
- Data-driven approach to performance, impact and decision-making.
- Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for experimentation and scale.
