We typically write $100-150k cheques across domains and actively invest in up rounds; we also help founders close Seed and Series A rounds with our VCs and family offices network. We support founders and back them from ideation. Our mission is to empower founders with the resources and expertise necessary for sustainable rapid scaling. Role Overview We are seeking a driven, sharp, and analytical Startup Analyst to join our team in Gurgaon. In this role, you will be on the front lines of deal sourcing, founder interactions, and startup evaluation. You will actively engage with early-stage founders, analyse business models, evaluate market opportunities, and help decide which startups join PedalStart’s acceleration cohorts and receive investment funding. You do not need prior venture capital experience—we will train and educate you across each specific industry sector (SaaS, FinTech, D2C, DeepTech, HealthTech, etc.). You need to possess strong business acumen, a passion for the Indian startup ecosystem, and the ability to extract key insights through structured founder conversations.

Key Responsibilities
• Deal Sourcing & Initial Screening: Conduct initial screening and research on early-stage startups applying for PedalStart’s accelerator program across various sectors.
• Founder Engagement: Conduct initial and follow-up discussions with startup founders to assess their vision, business processes, unit economics, team dynamics, and core challenges.
• Business & Financial Evaluation:



Analyse startup business models, go-to-market strategies, traction metrics, financial projections, and unit economics to assess scalability and viability.
• Market & Competitive Research: Conduct deep market research, market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), industry trend mapping, and competitive analysis to identify risks and growth drivers.
• Due Diligence & Reporting: Compile structured investment notes, evaluation reports, and pitch decks to present actionable recommendations to the internal investment committee.
• Portfolio & Cohort Support: Collaborate with internal teams to onboard, evaluate, and mentor startups during acceleration cohorts and subsequent fundraising rounds. Candidate Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Experience:
2 to 3 years of professional experience, ideally within a startup, incubator, VC/PE firm, accelerator, management consulting, or equity research environment.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Analytical Capability: Strong grasp of startup metrics, unit economics, financial modelling, market research methodologies, and business model evaluation.

Skills:
Exceptional spoken and written English communication skills; adept at conducting structured founder interviews and presenting findings clearly.
• Ecosystem Passion: Native curiosity and high enthusiasm for technology trends, early-stage startups, venture capital, and emerging market opportunities.
