Company Description SecNode builds an AI security engineer designed for lean security and engineering teams that struggle with growing backlogs rather than a lack of findings. The platform uses specialized agents to test web applications, APIs, AWS environments, source code, and external attack surfaces, then learns each customer’s environment and business context to prioritize what truly matters. SecNode automates ownership assignment and follow-up, including draft fix pull requests, to drive closure instead of just generating alerts.

The product is built and hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), with all AI processing on EU infrastructure, and integrates seamlessly with tools such as AWS, GitHub, and Slack. SecNode offers a focused, modern environment for professionals who want to solve real security operations problems with practical AI.

Role Description The Security Engineer will work remotely in a full-time capacity, helping design, implement, and maintain security capabilities that power SecNode’s AI-driven platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and modeling real-world attack scenarios, enhancing detection and testing logic for web apps, APIs, AWS, and external attack surfaces, and contributing to secure architecture and code review practices. The role involves collaborating closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate security findings into actionable, high-quality remediations and workflows.

The Security

Engineer will also review and improve automation for ranking, ownership assignment,



and fix follow-up, ensuring the platform scales effectively for lean security and engineering teams. Participation in threat research, continuous improvement of internal security posture, and documentation of security standards and controls are core parts of the role.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Security Engineering and general Cybersecurity, with practical experience designing and operating secure systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security and Information Security, including secure development practices, code review, and data protection fundamentals.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, including familiarity with common network protocols, architectures, and related attack and defense techniques.
- Experience with cloud security (especially AWS), infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working with developers and product teams, translating technical issues into clear, actionable guidance.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language (such as Python, Go, or JavaScript) is preferred.
- Familiarity with security testing tools, vulnerability management, and threat modeling practices is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced setting, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
