Profile: Sr. Merchandiser

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in garment merchandising
- Experience in knitted garments is mandatory
- Prior experience in Kolkata’s garment manufacturing industry, with good knowledge of local suppliers and vendors

Roles:

The candidate should have strong knitted garments merchandising experience and a good understanding of Kolkata’s local supplier and vendor network. The role covers costing, order execution from cutting to packing, and coordination across factory teams. * Costing & Pricing: Prepare garment costing, analyse material and production costs, and ensure competitive pricing and profitability.

- Order Management: Manage orders end to end, from cutting through stitching, finishing, quality checking and final packing.
- Production Planning: Plan and coordinate production schedules for smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.
- Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Maintain relationships with local suppliers and vendors in Kolkata for fabrics, trims, accessories and other production requirements.
- Knitted Garments Merchandising:



Handle merchandising and production requirements for knitted garments.
- Production Monitoring: Track order progress, identify bottlenecks and coordinate with factory teams to resolve production issues.
- Material Management: Ensure timely availability of fabrics, trims and accessories to avoid production delays.
- Quality & Delivery: Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain quality standards and meet delivery deadlines.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with purchase, production, quality and dispatch teams for productive order execution.

Qualification:

- Graduate in any discipline; a degree or diploma in Textile / Apparel / Fashion Technology or Merchandising is preferred
- Proven ability to manage orders independently from cutting to packing
- Ability to handle multiple orders and meet production timelines
- Strong understanding of garment costing, production planning and order execution
