Batra Heart & Multispeciality Hospital is seeking an experienced, energetic, and clinically competent Emergency Nurse Team Leader to supervise emergency nursing operations, lead the nursing team, and ensure prompt, safe and effective patient care in the Emergency Department.

Position Details

- Designation: Emergency Nurse Team Leader
- Department: Emergency & Trauma Services
- Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM, as per applicable requirements and hospital policy
- Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of relevant Emergency/ER/Trauma nursing experience, preferably with team leadership responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise, and coordinate emergency nursing staff to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Coordinate triage, initial assessment, prioritisation and prompt escalation of critically ill and emergency patients.
- Ensure readiness for medical emergencies, trauma cases, cardiac emergencies and other time-critical conditions.
- Coordinate with Emergency Physicians, RMO/JR Residents, consultants, ICU, OT, laboratory, radiology and other departments.
- Ensure timely implementation of medical orders, safe medication administration, accurate documentation and proper patient handover.
- Support emergency resuscitation, CPR/BLS/ACLS response, and code blue activities within the staff member’s training and authorised scope of practice.
- Prepare duty rosters, allocate nursing responsibilities, monitor attendance and ensure adequate staffing across shifts.
- Ensure availability and readiness of emergency trolleys, crash carts, defibrillators, monitors, oxygen supply, suction equipment and essential emergency drugs.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control,



biomedical waste management, patient identification, medication safety and other patient safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, clinical protocols, and NABH standards applicable to emergency services.
- Conduct staff orientation, clinical training, competency assessments, mock drills and performance monitoring.
- Monitor incident reporting, emergency response timelines, clinical indicators and corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate emergency nursing records and ensure proper communication with patients’ attendants, respecting confidentiality and hospital policies.

Candidate Requirements

- Strong clinical knowledge of emergency nursing, triage, trauma care and resuscitation protocols.
- Proven ability to lead nursing teams and manage high-pressure emergency situations.
- Valid nursing registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred where applicable to the role.
- Excellent communication, coordination, decision-making, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of NABH standards, patient safety, and infection control practices.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
