Job role: Patent Analyst/Associate/Agent.

Role Overview

The Patent Analyst will be responsible for supporting and independently managing patent drafting and prosecution matters across relevant technology domains. The role requires strong technical understanding, analytical ability, patent drafting skills and sound knowledge of Indian patent law and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft patent specifications, claims and related patent documents in relevant technology domains.
- Work on patent matters involving Mechanical, Electronics, 4G/5G Communications and emerging AI technologies, including: Machine Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, Related technology domains
- Prepare and file responses to First Examination Reports (FERs).
- Assist with and independently handle patent prosecution proceedings.
- Handle and appear in hearings before the Indian Patent Office, as applicable.
- Coordinate effectively with inventors, clients and internal teams to understand inventions and ensure effective prosecution.
- Independently manage assigned patent prosecution matters.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and procedural requirements.




- Conduct technical and patent-related analysis required for effective drafting and prosecution.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records for assigned patent matters.

Eligibility & Candidate Profile

- Min 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
- Strong understanding of Indian Patent Law, Rules and Patent Office procedures.
- Technical background in one or more of the following:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics/Electronics Engineering
- Telecommunications / 4G / 5G
- Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, NLP, Computer Vision
- Related technical domains

- Experience in patent specification and claim drafting.
- Experience in preparing FER responses and handling patent prosecution matters.
- Registered Patent Agent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Robust technical writing and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to understand complex technical inventions and translate them into clear patent specifications and claims.
- Ability to independently manage multiple matters while adhering to statutory timelines.
