Job Description

The Research and Development Manager will be responsible for product innovation and continuous improvement by translating customer requirements and business priorities into effective chemical formulations and scalable manufacturing solutions. Through scientific research, formulation development, performance testing, and process optimization, the role ensures products meet quality, safety, regulatory, and technical standards while enhancing product performance, manufacturing efficiency, cost-effectiveness,



and the organization’s competitive position in the market.

- Drive product development and formulation improvement by researching, developing, and optimizing chemical formulations, paints, coatings, and related products to meet evolving customer requirements, enhance product performance, and support business growth.

- Validate product performance and technical suitability through laboratory testing, product trials, and systematic performance evaluations, ensuring formulations meet established quality specifications, application requirements, and relevant industry standards.

- Optimize raw material selection and formulation costs by evaluating alternative raw materials, assessing technical performance, and identifying cost-effective solutions that maintain product quality while improving profitability and supply flexibility.

- Ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance by establishing appropriate testing methods, reviewing technical specifications, and aligning product development activities with applicable safety requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations.

- Facilitate the successful transfer of current and improved formulations into production by collaborating with Production and Quality teams,



providing technical guidance, and validating manufacturing processes to achieve consistent product quality, process efficiency, and production readiness.

- Resolve product and manufacturing challenges while strengthening R&D; effectiveness by investigating technical issues, identifying root causes, implementing corrective improvements, and overseeing laboratory activities, technical documentation, and R&D; projects to promote continuous improvement and reliable outcomes.

- Lead R&D; capabilities and provide technical expertise by guiding team performance, setting departmental priorities, and supporting customers and internal stakeholders with product recommendations and technical solutions to achieve departmental objectives, strengthen customer confidence, and support the organization's strategic goals.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paint Technology, or a related field.

- 7–10 years of relevant experience in the Chemical, Paint or Coatings industry.
