Location:
Badlapur office
Salary:
Depend on Interview
Key Responsibilities
Hydrological & Hydraulic Modeling: Conduct comprehensive flood simulations, rainfall-runoff analyses, and hydraulic routing using industry-standard software to understand catchment behavior. Flood Risk & Hazard Analysis: Perform detailed flood risk assessments, floodplain mapping, and vulnerability studies for urban and riverine environments. Design of Flood Mitigation Structures: Lead the conceptual and detailed design of flood defenses, retention basins, stormwater management systems, levees, culverts, and channel improvements. Catchment & Watershed Management: Evaluate catchment area characteristics, land-use impacts, and climate change scenarios to develop resilient watershed management plans. Technical Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear engineering reports, technical specifications, design memorandums, and environmental impact documentation for stakeholders and regulatory compliance. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers, environmental scientists, GIS specialists, and project managers to integrate hydrology findings into broader infrastructure designs. Client & Regulatory Engagement: Support project proposals, attend client meetings,
and coordinate with regulatory authorities for permitting and approvals. Required
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree (Post-Graduation) in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Flood Management, Civil Engineering (with a focus on water), or a closely related field. Required
Experience:
e.g., 3 to 7+ years] of skilled experience in hydrological design, flood management, or water resources engineering. Strong portfolio demonstrating hands-on experience with flood simulations and catchment analysis. Key Skills / Competencies: Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (such as HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HEC-HMS, MIKE suite, InfoWorks ICM, SWMM, or equivalent). GIS Integration: Working knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis, watershed delineation, and floodplain mapping. Engineering Principles: Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, open-channel flow, sediment transport, and rainfall-runoff processes. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international design codes, stormwater management standards, and environmental regulations related to flooding. Communication: Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
