Role Description The HMC Operator & Setter will be responsible for operating and setting up Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and process specifications. Day-to-day activities include machine setup, tooling selection, program loading, offset adjustments, and execution of machining operations while monitoring performance and ensuring dimensional accuracy through regular inspections. The role involves performing basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, adhering to safety protocols,



and collaborating with the production and quality teams to meet delivery timelines.

The HMC Operator & Setter will also contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process optimizations and maintaining accurate production records. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Vapi, Gujarat

Qualifications

- Strong experience in operating and setting up Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), including tool and fixture setup and parameter adjustment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, machining process sheets, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of CNC machining principles, cutting tools, materials, and basic programming or parameter editing on HMC controls.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges for quality checks.
- Understanding of shop floor safety practices, machine maintenance routines, and housekeeping standards.
- Experience working in precision engineering or manufacturing environments; exposure to vacuum systems or related components is an advantage.
- Minimum vocational/technical diploma or ITI in Machinist, Fitter, or related mechanical trade; higher technical qualifications are beneficial.
- Ability to work in a team, follow standard operating procedures, meet production targets, and adapt to shift schedules when required.
