Elipse is building the operating system + hardware for physical spaces. We're turning housing from a complicated service industry into a technology product — homes with embedded intelligence, integrated robotics, and closed-loop systems for energy and automation.
We design and build the interiors, false ceilings and electrical systems of homes for leading developers in Hyderabad. Every home starts in Blueprint, our own MEP and CAD platform, which exports directly into our OS (eOS) and our spatial platform. Every home knows its own shape, every wire and every sensor before anyone moves in.

eOS is the operating system that runs every Elipse home. It is a custom Yocto-based Linux running on a Raspberry Pi 5 hub, with Rust microservices that talk to ESP32 nodes in every room over MQTT. Elipse is looking for a Rust engineer to build eOS: the software that turns a building into one system that senses, decides and acts. You will work across the stack, from device drivers and protocols to the spatial layer that tracks the home and everyone in it in real time.

- Design, build and maintain eOS services in Rust: device control, automation, scheduling and energy management
- Build the spatial layer: load each home's 3D model from Blueprint and keep a live picture of the home, its devices and the people in it
- Design and implement the eHome protocol that connects every device in the home, from the wire up to the application layer
- Write and maintain Linux drivers, device tree overlays and hardware interfaces on the Raspberry Pi 5
- Own the Yocto build, over-the-air updates, security and reliability on the hub
- Integrate eOS with our sensors, robots, multi-room audio and edge compute (Raspberry Pi 5, Hailo, Jetson)
- Build monitoring, logging and automated tests so problems are caught before a homeowner notices them
- Ship to real homes, debug issues on site, and keep every home running
- Document designs and decisions, and iterate quickly as the product matures

- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or proof of exceptional skills
- Strong production Rust: async (Tokio), ownership and lifetimes, error handling, performance
- Solid Linux systems knowledge: processes, systemd, networking, file systems, device tree
- Experience with networking protocols: MQTT, TCP/IP, HTTP, WebSocket, mDNS, TLS
- Experience building software that runs 24/7 without anyone watching it
- Comfort working close to hardware: you can read a schematic and a datasheet, and debug with a logic analyzer
- Experience with Yocto or another embedded Linux build system is preferred
- Experience with embedded Rust (Embassy, esp-hal) or C on microcontrollers is preferred
- Experience with real-time systems or running ML models on edge devices is preferred

We're a small team building something that hasn't been built before. The hours are long and the pace is fast. You'll own what you build end to end, from first sketch to a working product in someone's home. We work from first principles, and responsibility grows with results.
