Role Description The Cardiologist role at MediVaah is a full-time, in office position based in Chennai. The Cardiologist will provide comprehensive cardiac care, including evaluating patients, diagnosing cardiovascular conditions, interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting outpatient and inpatient consultations, performing and overseeing cardiac procedures where applicable, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring continuity of care.
The role also involves counseling patients and families on preventive cardiology, lifestyle modification, and long-term disease management. The Cardiologist will maintain accurate medical records, adhere to clinical protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives,
and uphold high standards of ethical and patient-centered care within the MediVaah ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine, with comprehensive clinical skills in internal medicine and patient assessment.
- Advanced expertise in Cardiology, including diagnosis and management of a broad range of cardiovascular diseases.
- Experience in Nuclear Medicine techniques relevant to cardiology, such as cardiac imaging and stress testing, is preferred.
- Skills in Interventional Cardiology procedures, such as angioplasty and stent placement, and familiarity with cath lab protocols.
- Competence in Vascular medicine, including evaluation and management of peripheral vascular disorders.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification in Cardiology (MD/DM or equivalent) and valid medical council registration.
- Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and ability to manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
- Prior experience in hospital or clinic-based cardiology practice; familiarity with digital health platforms is an advantage.
