Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Star Cement Ltd. is a full-time, in office position based in Darrang, focused on supporting plant operations, business processes, and team performance. In this role, the Assistant Manager will oversee daily workflows, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards. The position involves monitoring key performance indicators, preparing periodic reports, and contributing to planning and implementation of process improvements.

Manager will collaborate with senior management to execute business strategies, manage resources efficiently, and support vendor, dealer, or institutional customer interactions as required. This role also includes supervising and guiding team members, supporting training initiatives, and promoting a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Qualifications

- Strong operational and supervisory skills, including experience in plant or manufacturing operations, process monitoring, and team coordination.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data, track KPIs, and support decision-making through structured documentation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling collaboration with internal teams, vendors, dealers, and institutional customers.
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing or cement industry operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office), with familiarity in ERP or MIS systems considered an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification in management or operations is an added benefit.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or industrial operations, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a plant environment, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
